V tejto časti nášho seriálu si ukážeme vytvorenie vlastného DNS servera.
Na vytvorenie DNS použijeme balíček bind9
apt-get install bind9
Prejdeme do priečinka /etc/bind9/, v ktorom nachádzame named.conf. Do tohoto súboru budeme vždy pridávať novú doménu v tvare
zone "svetserverov.sk" IN {
type master;
file "pri/svetserverov.sk";
};
v /etc/bind9/pri potom vytvoríme samotný súbor pre doménu svetserverov.sk

Serial: Určuje kedy bol naposledy zmenený záznam, inak sa neprejaviac zmeny DNS. Vždy je potrebné toto číslo zadávať v tvare YYYYMMDDxx.
Refresh: Určuje ako často sa majú obnovovať údaje z primárneho DNS servera. RFC 1033 odporúča 3600.
Retry: Určuje interval, v ktorom sa má sekundárny nameserver pokúšať opätovne spojiť s primárnym DNS serverom po tom, ako pri spojení nastala chyba. RFC 1033 odporúča 600 .
Expire: Určuje platnosť údajov na sekundárnom DNS serveri ak sa nedokáže spojiť s primárnym. RFC 1033 odporúča 3600000
Minimum: Minimálna hodnota TTL.
Po každej zmene v súboroch bindu je potrebné znovu načítať bind, /etc/init.d/bind9 reload
