Google v severnom Rakúsku pri meste Linz v dedine Kronstorf kúpilo 75 hektárov stavebného pozemku. Na tomto mieste Google vybuduje nové datacentrum, ktoré má byť v prevádzke do roku 2010.
Google si do užšieho výberu vybralo 10 európsky krajín, nakoniec sa zamerali na rakúske mestečko Kronstorf ktoré má výbornú polohu vzhľadom k tomu že sa tu nachádzajú 2 vodné elektrické elektrárne ktoré majú dosť voľnej kapacity zvládnuť takéto dátove centrum. Nové datacentrum má zamestnať 50-100 ľudí. Vybudovanie nového dátoveho centra bude Google stáť približne 100 miliónov eur.
Google má vo výstavbe ešte niekoľko ďalších dátovych centier a to v Belgicku (oblasť Hainaut) a v Južnej Kalifornii.
