VMware 3 infraštruktúra, najčastejšie nasadzovaná virtuálna infraštruktúra na trhu, prináša lepšiu úroveň služieb a prevádzkovej efektívnosti, ktorá umožňuje centralizované riadenie, automatický load balancing, kontinuitu prevádzky, riadenie spotreby energie a schopnosť migrovať živé virtuálne stroje naprieč fyzických strojov, tak aby sa minimalizovalo prerušenie služby.
Ako sa VMware Server pracuje?
Na začiatok, inštalácia a spustenie VMware Server ako aplikačného prostredia hostiteľského systému pre operačné systémy Linux alebo Windows. Tenká virtualizačná vrstva oblastí fyzického servera umožňuje spustiť viac virtuálnych strojov súčasne na jednom serveri. Zdroje fyzického servera sú riešené ako jednotný bazén, v ktorom môžu byť pridelené do virtuálneho stroja jednotlivé zdroje riadeným spôsobom. VMware Server izoluje každý virtuálny stroj od svojho hostiteľa a iných virtuálnych strojov, pričom je nedotknutý, pokiaľ má niektorý virtuálny stroj kolíziu. Vaše dáta nepretečú cez virtuálne stroje a vaše aplikácie môžu komunikovať len cez nakonfigurované sieťové pripojenie. VMware Server tvorí prostredie ako sadu súborov, ktoré dokáže ľahko back-up-ovať, presúvať a kopírovať.
